e-health (electronic health) involves the use of digital technologies to deliver, manage, and improve healthcare services. It encompasses a wide variety of tools and platforms, including mobile health applications, electronic health records (EHR), health data analytics, wearable devices, and remote patient monitoring.

e-health and medtech are closely connected, with medtech providing the devices that capture health data and e-health platforms analyzing, storing, and communicating that information. This synergy enables real-time monitoring and remote care, making healthcare more efficient and accessible.

Mapping Belgian Medtech & e-health Companies

We have mapped more than 300 medtech and e-health companies, with a specific focus on startups and family-owned manufacturers. Medical product distributors were not included in this mapping to maintain our focus on companies that create innovative products.

One of the main challenges we faced was how to best segment these companies in a way that would provide the clearest understanding of the market.

For Part 1, we’ve chosen to highlight companies that specialize in addressing specific pathologies. You will notice that we’ve used icons to differentiate between therapeutic devices and implants, diagnostic and imaging companies, and digital health solutions.

Part 2 will feature medtech and e-health companies that are not focused on any particular pathology, offering broader solutions across the healthcare spectrum.
